Yarn, yarn and more yarn...

Ok, so I know that I don't have nearly as big of a yarn stash as some knitters do, but man oh man. Do I have a lot of random crap.

I have been trying to go through it today and decide what exactly I want to do. Do I work though all of this? I have a ton of what I like to call "ones and twos" of skeins. Think of the gratification I could get from baby hats, little baby sweaters, house socks, etc I could make from all the randomness. It would take me a year though.

And then I have some purchases from the past year or so when I wised up a bit. "Don't just buy one or two balls, buy like, 5 or 6. Then maybe you can actually make a sweater or something."  A few times I got caught up in the moment and did just that. I got excited that I found a Michaels around here and that they carried Patons Classic Wool. Good quality and relatively inexpensive, right? Well, cheap enough that I didn't feel bad buying more than a few balls..and hey, I was going to make a sweater.

The problem is, here in California, there is rarely a need for a 100% wool sweater. Even for me, who gets seriously cold. Here is what would happen: Wow, I am so damn cold. Let me put on my hand knit sweater! yay! I knew this would come in handy up here in San Francisco. Fast forward to 5 minutes later when I am ripping it off because I am sweating profusely.

I've been thinking about making some felted bags with all this wool I have. Maybe a French Market Bag. I love the style, but I wonder where I will possibly use it. I think I would feel really silly with it unless I was at the Farmers Market or something. It's not really a bag I want to hand over to the Traders Joe's guy for groceries. And I already have my Jordana Paige satchel for knitting projects, so I don't need another. Anyway.

Oh, also, any takers on 2 random skeins of Bernat's? It's 100% acrylic. One light grey one pale lavender.

Free for anyone who wants them. I'll pay for postage. Charity knitting projects, perhaps?

Nevermind. It's found a happy home.

Just throwing some thoughts out there.

I just need to get rid of some of this stuff. Any suggestions on stashbusting?

An FO!

I don't have any decent wedding pictures to show yet, I'm waiting for my dad's to come in the mail. He took over 400 himself. I'd like to think there's some good ones in there. I can't wait. You'd think it was my own wedding with how excited I am to see them!

But, I do have something interesting to show...my finished Backyard Leaves scarf!

There I am looking super sexy at the BART station. (I thought I'd try a little something new...you can only take so many pictures in front of the bathroom/bedroom mirror.) Just as Maya had said, 3 balls were plenty. I can't imagine using 4 like the pattern called for. I like long scarves, but that would have just been too long.

I'm quite proud of it. Just a year ago I couldn't figure the damn pattern out, but I eventually caught on and towards the end there I could even watch tv at the same time. Yay!

Here is Randy unknowingly modeling it for you on BART while sleeping:

I'm trying to finish up some random projects I have going on so I can just focus on ONE PROJECT AT A TIME. Crazy, I know. But I am really going to try and give it a shot.

Oh wait, I do have one cute pic:

Thank you! Good night!

Gotta go...

I have a post that I planned to put up on Monday but didn't get a chance because Randy called me to dinner. Is it relevant now? Not really. I wanted to try and catch up on some things before this weekend got here, but there's no time now. I have to head out in a matter of minutes for Southern California.

You see, Tracey is getting married Saturday. Yup, it's that time already. I never even posted about the bachelorette party we had back in July.  I am a horrible blogger. Maybe I will try and catch up with all wedding related stuff after it's all said and done.

Sigh...I gotta go. I can't believe my twin sister is getting married.
