I actually had a completely free day today. No work, no school, and no school work that was pressing enough for me to do today. Woo hoo!
What did I do with myself? I actually woke up at a decent time (thanks to building maintenance pounding on my door this morning) and got started on a long overdue project. I spent a good amount of time with my sewing machine. I hemmed a bunch of pants and fixed a sweater. Here they are in all of their finished glory:
I've had them for a while, but couldn't wear them. It's like having new clothes. Yay!
I cleaned the apartment. It needed to be done. I even managed to go out and get sushi with my friend Janelle who I never get to see. We didn't get to spend nearly enough time together though. She wasn't feeling so well. Next week, Janelle, when you're feeling better, we'll chat more :)
I finished the sock. Here it is taunting me the other day when I was supposed to me studying for my midterm:
I will be ripping part of it out though. I thought I might be able to get two socks out of the one skein, but no. I will be just shy of 2 full socks. So, luckily I have another skein of this stuff. I am going to just make longer socks which is the way I like em anyway.
Spring break is next week...there will be lots of knitting. Well, i hope.

I have a pair of pants that SERIOUSLY need to be hemmed. I have, ahem, been wearing them with duct tape attaching the hem. don't tell!

Hemming pants? What does THAT mean? My 5'2" self just cuffs them and then convinves everyone it is the stylish thing to do. Especially with my jeans.
Thanks for petting the sock for me.....I won't tell him you are planning on destroying him. I forgive you though, they will be even cuter when they are longer.
p.s. I just found out that www.staceyishilarious.com is NOT a real website. ;)

I just roll my pants up a little. Am I stuck in some other decade? Eventually, the bottom part of the roll wears out and then I tear the rest off and my pants become just the right length. I never thought of duct tape, but I have used safety pins.

I amend my previous comment....I HAVE used staples as a too-long pants solution.

Nobody mentioned staples to hem pant legs. That's my favorite! If the pants are black(re-dyed of course...), you have to do an extra step and color the staples in w/ a Sharpie! Yea!

all my pants are too long and I just let them drag on the ground and get frayed along the back where i step on them. I like to pretend I'm going for a grunge look - but I think I'm really just lazy.
